Visa Names New Country Manager For East Africa Region
Visa has named Victor Makere as its new Country Manager for Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, and Rwanda. In his role, Victor will drive Visa’s strategic initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and expand digital payment solutions across these critical markets.
As Country Manager, Victor will oversee a diverse client portfolio, focusing on increasing strategic value and revenue for Visa and its partners. He will also lead the implementation of new products and services, ensuring the region’s digital payments landscape continues to evolve and thrive.

His prior roles at CRDB Bank and Standard Chartered Bank in Tanzania saw him leading digital banking transformations and merchant acquiring strategies. While representing CRDB through the Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA), Victor championed interoperability across networks and financial institutions, significantly enhancing Tanzania’s digital payments ecosystem.
