One wild morning in the Mara River

Private guide Michael Laubscher just had what can only be described as a once-in-a-lifetime safari spectacle in Kenya’s Mara Triangle.

In just 3.5 hours, he witnessed 10 lion kills, a thundering crossing of 60,000 wildebeest, and the kind of raw, unfiltered wildlife drama that most safari-goers only dream of.

The action came so fast it was almost absurd—predators at every turn, prey pouring across the Mara River, and nature’s brutal ballet unfolding under golden East African light.

From leopard sightings to crocodile ambushes to lions so full they could barely attempt a hunt, Michael’s footage captures the chaos and awe of the Great Migration at its peak.

And just when it seemed the wild had given all it could, the next morning delivered another 20,000 wildebeest crossing, more crocs on the prowl, and lions greeting both sunrise and sunset.

As Michael puts it, “I have no words”—but his video speaks volumes.
