Olatomiwa Williams Moves To New Microsoft Role
Olatomiwa Williams has moved into a new leadership role at Microsoft as Chief Growth & AI Officer for Middle East and Africa (MEA) Growth Markets, after serving four years as Country General Manager for Microsoft Nigeria and Ghana.
Williams’ transition comes as Microsoft reshuffles its leadership across the MEA region to accelerate digital transformation, innovation, and AI adoption. She will now focus on driving growth strategies and AI integration across high-potential markets within the region.
In her farewell message, Williams reflected on her journey with gratitude and pride, calling her time as GM a “profoundly rewarding and transformative chapter.” She credited the Microsoft teams in Nigeria and Ghana for their dedication and support in driving the company’s success in the region.
To fill her previous role, Microsoft has appointed Abideen Yusuf as the new Country Manager for Nigeria and Ghana. Williams praised Yusuf as an integral part of the team’s success and expressed confidence in his ability to lead the business into its next phase.
Williams’ appointment follows a series of executive movements at Microsoft MEA. Lillian Barnard was recently named Chief of Enterprise Partner Solutions, and Naim Yazbeck was promoted to President for Microsoft Middle East and Africa.
Microsoft is making leadership changes to align its organizational structure with its strategic priorities, particularly in the face of rapid technological advancements like AI. These changes aim to foster a more agile and focused approach to product development and market opportunities.
